The story behind the Gemma Collection

The name of our Gemma collection comes from the eponymous word in Latin, meaning both flower bud and gemstone. This collection of rose cut diamond rings is raw yet refined, brought to life through play and exploration in the moment. Resembling the natural process of diamonds being formed under high temperatures enclosed by the Earth’s crust, for the Gemma rings, the diamond is set in heated, liquid gold using a mold filled with sand. The gold solidifies around the diamond, creating an organic shape that emulates the shape of a flower coming into bloom. As they are made with antique diamonds, no Gemma ring is the same and each piece tells a unique story of generations past, like a wearable fairytale about to unfold.
Materials used for the Gemma Collection
Our Gemma rings are crafted with natural coloured diamonds (brown, champagne and salt and pepper diamonds) and heirloom gold or fairmined certified gold (yellow and rose gold, or white gold upon request ). The diamonds used are carefully selected vintage diamonds of the highest quality. With their rose cut shape, the diamonds’ facets are reminiscent of the narrowing spiral of a rose’s petals, adding even more delicacy to this nature-inspired jewellery design. Our Gemma rings are ethically and sustainably crafted with care in The Netherlands, shipping worldwide. Made to love a lifetime.
